I grew up as a Navy brat, living in a different home every year of my life, sometimes three different homes in one year.  Even though my family visited lots of churches, I never remember hearing the gospel message until I was 21 years old.  I was working in a nursery in southern California when a young lady told me about Christ and His imminent return.  She also told me about the rapture, that Christians would be spared of the turmoil that would plague the world for 7 years.  The thought of being ‘left behind’ brought me to realize my need of a Savior.  When I trusted Christ, my life changed 180 degrees overnight.

Within the first year of being a Christian, I was active in ministry, choir and service to the church.  At the end of that year, I was enrolled in a Bible college so I could study more about my God and His Word.  God led me to get a degree in Christian Education and Bible.   After graduation, while in Ecuador on a summer’s mission trip, I dedicated my life to missions.

Thirty-two years have passed since I trusted Christ as my Savior and I have seen every member in my family trust Christ, as well as some of my extended family.  Each one of our lives has changed dramatically from the heritage we came from.  Only God could do that.  My family considers me a pioneer of sorts for serving full-time in ministry.  But, I join Andy who comes from a family rich in serving God and supporting His faithful servants.

Andy and I have six adopted children that we have been raising.  Our youngest is eleven years old and is probably our deepest thinker on spiritual issues.  Three others are currently taking a Spanish class to prepare for living among Peruvians in the Amazon jungle.  We all have wonderful memories of our time there on our two-year missions assignment and are anxious to get back to Iquitos where we have built relationships.

As we prepare to go back to the field, pray for us to make wise decisions about our home, furnishings and involvements here in ministry.  No matter where God places us, we find joy and fulfillment in serving Him.
